Universal Risk Assessment (URA)
Thrive by Five Washington and its partners in the Thrive Demonstration Communities, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Mathematica Policy Research, and Dr. Deborah Daro (Research Fellow/Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago), worked together to develop the Universal Risk Assessment (URA). The URA was designed for use with home visiting programs and it assesses where a family may need support.
Both Thrive by Five and the Gates Foundation believe that the URA will provide important information necessary to best serve families and can help inform the development of future programs and services across Washington. To that end, Thrive by Five has made the URA available for others in the field to be a useful tool for communities where there is a continuum of home visiting programs operating, and ultimately for building an effective statewide home visiting system in Washington.
