Public Awareness & Information

Several polls of parents and voters in Washington state show that there is substantial public awareness that learning begins at birth. Unfortunately, too few people understand the importance of early learning to a child’s future success in school and ability to thrive in life. We all benefit when children get the best start in life possible.

With the help of early learning and media partners statewide, Thrive by Five Washington is growing a public awareness effort in Washington state.

Early Learning Communications Roundtable
Thrive has brought together more than a dozen of the state’s major early learning organizations and other key partners to work together on messaging, campaigns and materials to provide consistency in our public outreach and maximize all resources available. In December 2008, the Roundtable hosted the state’s first Media Workshop on Early Learning for reporters and editors statewide.
